Daily Devotion of Psalm 126

Daily Nugget:
The children of Israel were excited when they were able to return to Jerusalem (Psalm126:1). Instead of misery and what seemed to be endless waiting, their prayers were answered, and they were joyous (Psalm 126:2). They were back in the land where they longed to be because of God’s intervention (Psalm 126:3-4).

All the happiness they experienced did not come overnight. There were years and countless prayers offered to God to receive for which they longed. Many tears and broken, sincere hearts bombarded the throne room of God for what they were now enjoying. In God’s timing, they reaped from the prayers, patience, and trust they put in Him.
“They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. 6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.” Psalm 126:5-6

Life is rough, and I cannot imagine getting through the speedbumps and ruts that happen along the way without God’s help and protection. Most Christians, when faced with trials, offer up supplications unto the Lord.

Often the requests are not answered right away. Sometimes there need to be changes in the prayer’s life or in the troublesome situation before God intervenes. Sometimes God’s answer is, “Wait, it’s not time yet,” or “No, it’s not what I have for you.” Praise the Lord for the clear answers, but whatever His answer, He knows best.

Although you may not like His answer, trust that God knows better than you. What you desire may harm you more than help. Whatever the prayer outcome, you will get answers. Be patient and be willing to accept the open or closed doors of God’s working in your life.
“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” James 5:16
