Daily Devotion of Psalm 96

Daily Nugget:
Every Christian has a responsibility to be a godly example, to exhort the Lord publically, and to proclaim what God desires of us according to the Word of God. If we do not tell the lost about what the Bible says, who will?
“Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people.” Psalm 96:3

One of the reasons most do not know about the Lord is because Christians have been silent about God’s goodness. The unsaved world has heard little of what God has done and is doing in lives. Since they cannot see Him and unfortunately are not understanding how He is working in lives today, they live further away from what He desires of them. In many cases, it is Christianity’s fault that the ungodly know or hear little about what He is doing today.

According to this Psalm and many other Scriptures, we must:

  • Bless His name (vs. 2). “Bless” means to “show our adoration” for the Lord. Most are silent in this area. Few are even afraid to pray in public, and indeed rarely mention to others what God has done in their lives.
  • Tell others how God has helped you each day (vss. 2-3).
  • Show that we honor God (vss. 4, 6, 7, 10).
  • Give to the Lord (vs. 7,8) the credit due Him, offerings of what He has allowed you to have (Mal. 3:8-20), give of your time, and give allegiance due him by attending church .… We appreciate what God has done for us, what are you doing for Him?
  • Give Him your worship (vs. 9).
  • Give Him the respect that is due Him (vs. 9).

God does not use angels to give His message to the unsaved, although He could, and they would. In many cases, the angels are not visible to the lost to see their obedient-to-
God example That is the responsibility God has put on our shoulders.

If you love the Lord, tell others. If more broadcasted His goodness, more would know more about Him, and God would get the glory and respect He deserves.

“If you know, you owe.” — Author Unknown

Today’s Reading:
Psalm 96
1 O sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth.
2 Sing unto the LORD, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day.
3 Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people.
4 For the LORD is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.
5 For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.
6 Honour and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
7 Give unto the LORD, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength.
8 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come into his courts.
9 O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.
10 ¶ Say among the heathen that the LORD reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously.
11 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof.
12 Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice
13 Before the LORD: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.
